Words Worth Noting roots itself in the Word of life—the Bible. We aim to utilize the gift and the power of words to:
Have you been exposed to the brokenness of this world yet? Or more importantly, have you begun to experience the brokenness of your own heart? None of us can escape the suffering this fallen world guarantees, but God, in His grace, allows no suffering to slip outside of His redemptive purposes. We hope to join Him in this labor to restore what's broken in our worldviews with the life-giving ministry of Christ and His Word.
Have you ever felt purposeless, confused, overwhelmed, or just in need of help? Us too. Matthew 9 speaks of Jesus’ compassion on the crowds, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd (v. 36). God has wired us with hearts to shepherd His people in both their pain and their everyday lives with the Word of God to discern the voice of their Shepherd and follow Him with joyful hearts.
You'll find a range of topics here, from serving to motherhood to repentance and rest, but the thread that binds them all together is the glory of the King and His Kingdom. Psalm 145 grounds Words Worth Noting with its various expressions of speech, and we're compelled to steward our words by joining the song of eternity that lifts high the beauty, the majesty, and the satisfying glory of the only One worthy.
About Lauren + Emily
Hey friends, we're Lauren Weir and Emily Guyer. We each opened our own Etsy shop several years ago with a similar desire to create art that captured the beauty of Scripture. Shortly thereafter, God began expanding those desires to create as our hearts grew more in tune with the needs of God's people and the unique gifts He's entrusted to us to steward.
As our friendship grew, the Lord led us to partner with one another in the Kingdom endeavor of Words Worth Noting. With Lauren's Master of Biblical Counseling degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and Emily's ten years of ministry, the conviction of our hearts grows stronger everyday to proclaim the goodness and glory of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Hey friends, I’m Lauren. I’m a wife to the man I adore most, Ben, and mom to my sweet baby girl, Harper and dog, Buck. Ben and I met as sophomores at Ole Miss and married in 2012. We have lived in Oxford, MS, and Wake Forest, NC, but now we make our home near family in Germantown, TN, and serve as members of Harvest Church. I have the privilege of counseling and discipling women alongside being full-time mommy to our Harper girl. I genuinely love deep thoughtfulness as much as I love laughing. I'm a firm believer that the poor in spirit really are the most blessed, that repentance leads to intimacy and joy, and that life is most full when it’s being poured out.
Hey y’all, I’m Emily. My husband Michael and I met while in undergrad at Liberty University and married in 2011. We currently live in Raleigh, NC, with our twirly and delightful daughter, Amelia. Michael serves as the Minister to Students + College at Open Door Church while finishing up his PhD in New Testament from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. A few years ago the Lord moved in our hearts and gave us a deep burden to see the University of Michigan students treasure Jesus above all else. So in the summer of 2018, with the support and affirmation of our local church, we are packing up all of our things to move to Ann Arbor, Michigan to plant Treasuring Christ Church with a few other friends from our church. I am a work-at-home mom, graphic designer, disciple-maker, coffee-guzzler, memory-maker, and soon-to-be church planter’s wife. My biggest passion is to see Jesus Christ worshiped to the ends of the earth, making my deepest prayer that He will use every sphere of my life for that purpose.
